Precious! I've used fondant once. I made my 5-yo a Barbie-doll cake on her last birthday, and I used the fondant for the gown. It came out pretty nice; but then again, I didn't have to shape the fondant or anything complicated like that. All I really did was drape it over the cake "gown".

The fondant wasn't too hard to work with, but I really hated the taste of it...and so did everybody else! It peeled off easily enough, and it kept the cake tasting nice and fresh until we ate it all.

I'm thinking Alice in Wonderland too. My sister recently had a full AIW themed baby shower. My sister works for Disney and borrowed one of the duplicate gowns for the Red Queen and my other sister dressed up as the Queen and sat at the head of the table. It was quite fantastic. The only downside is it was incredibly hot in Pasadena (near Los Angeles) that day and the tea was outside. It was just a few months ago so we expected fall weather. Ha! It was close to 100 degrees outside. So our "tea" quickly became iced tea served in tea cups.

Adorable! Can't wait to see what theme you chose. We love celebrations too! I'm in the middle of planning X's third birthday and am so excited for the theme. Pinterest has been soooo helpful in planning this year! I'm looking forward to planning N's too. Thankfully I have 2 months in between the two birthdays.
